We are looking for a Sub System Test Engineer: ATS - Railway Infrastructure
Work assignments:
Responsibility for the test execution and test management of mass transit rollouts of ATS for CBTC/ Non-CBTC signaling Systems as part of large-scale railway infrastructure projects. Ensuring economic success and (internal) customer satisfaction for ATS domain in CBTC/ Non-CBTC application projects. Carrying responsibility for the lab data testing scope. Representation of the Test Team within a project when communicating to internal stakeholders, whilst reporting to the line management (test manager/group lead). Ensuring compliance with defined procedures/processes.

Identification and exploitation of additional business opportunities during project implementation, e.g. identifying Change Requests or extending the scope towards project needs.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Preparation of test checklist specific to project and Create test specification / test cases as per ATS design requirement specifications.
- Responsible for lab data testing of ATS Sub-systems in Test lab using real and simulated test environments.
- Review / verification of all documents related to Lab data testing.
- Evaluation of project, customer, internal requirements towards implementing suitable project specific test cases and test documentation.
- Detailed knowhow on functional aspects of ATS and its interface with other subsystems like ATC and IxL with CBTC/non-CBTC projects.
- Knowledge about testing and commissioning process and Strategy.
- Work with development team to identify and capture test cases, ensure version management
- Knowledge of test automation for HMI/UI testing
- Setting up of test environments, writing test scripts and implementing test cases/scenarios.
- Providing feedback on usability and serviceability, trace the result to quality risk and report it to concerned people.
- Reviewing test logs and results to identify failures, raising CFXs in the change and defect management tool, participating in CCB meetings, and providing test inputs.
- Interfacing/Clarification with senior test engineer, test manager, System Manager/Sub PM, Validation, RAMS and project teams.
- Collaborating with HQ teams towards tooling requirements, developing/adapting templates/schematics, and parameterization.
- Able to support installation and tests activities/teams onsite if required.
- Understanding of other subsystems like Interlocking, ATC, Communication and Diagnostic Systems.
- Knowledge of Projects Support functions (RM/DM/CM) and Quality Management.
Essential Soft and Hard skills for IXL Functional Tester:
- Basic Knowledge of Linux.
- Experience with VMware.
- Networking knowledge.
- Troubleshooting skills for the Test Environment.
- Ability to understand and implement IP addressing, subnetting, interface configuration, routing principles, and gateway setup.
- Fundamental understanding of server environments, including ESXi and Windows.
- Practical experience with Siemens products, particularly WKII, R9k, TGMT, and TG200, will be an added advantage.
You’ll win us over by:
- Degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
- Professional experience of minimum 5 years in railway transportation systems (Main line / Mass Transit) with the focus on testing on ATS sub-system (CBTC / Non CBTC).
- Performed hands on testing activities for ATS subsystem besides understanding of operational scenarios, requirements, and interfaces.
- Experience with Functional testing, lab testing, test setups. Experience with Integration tests and SAT would be an added advantage.
- Proficient English essential both written and oral, knowledge of German/Spanish is an asset
- Independent and structured approach to work.
