THIS IS YOUR ROLE Role Overview We are looking for a highly driven and analytical Strategic Procurement Purchase Engineer with 5-7 years of experience in handling key manufacturing commodities such as Die Casting, Sheet Metal, and Machining. The role demands strong expertise in zero-based costing (ZBC), supplier negotiations, and deep process knowledge to drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives. Key Responsibiliti es Strategic Sourcing & Procurement * Lead sourcing strategies for Die Casting, Sheet Metal, and Machining commodities. * Identify, evaluate, and onboard capable suppliers aligned with business objectives. * Drive long-term supplier partnerships and develop alternate sourcing strategies. Costing & Value Engineering * Perform zero-based costing (ZBC) for various components and assemblies. * Analyze supplier quotations and validate cost structures (RM, process cost, overheads, margins). * Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering (VE) and design-to-cost approaches. Supplier Management * Conduct supplier negotiations ensuring cost competitivenes s, quality, and delivery commitments. * Monitor supplier performance (QCD - Quality, Cost, Delivery) and drive improvements. * Support supplier development initiatives and capability enhancement. Technical & Process Understanding Apply strong knowledge of manufacturing processes: * Die Casting (HPDC / LPDC / GDC) * Sheet Metal (stamping / Laser fabrication) * Machining (CNC, VMC, turning, milling)

• Evaluate manufacturing feasibility and recommend process improvements. Commercial & Contract Management * Ensure alignment of pricing with contracts and commercial terms. * Manage RFQs, techno-commerc ial discussions, and finalization of orders. * Monitor market trends (raw materials, commodity fluctuations) impacting pricing. Cross-function al Collaboration
• Work closely with design, engineering, quality, and SCM teams for seamless execution.
• Support new product development (NPD) with cost-effective sourcing solutions. Key Skills & Competencies * Strong expertise in Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) * In-depth knowledge of Die Casting, Sheet Metal, and Machining processes * Excellent negotiation and analytical skills * Ability to break down and validate cost structures * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills * Proficiency in SAP, MS Office * Good understanding of engineering drawings Preferred Attributes * Exposure to automotive, industrial, or heavy engineering sectors * Experience in handling complex assemblies and multi-level BOM costing. * Familiarity with global sourcing practices Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * Cost savings / cost avoidance achieved * Supplier performance improvement (QCD metrics) * Adherence to sourcing timelines * Accuracy and effectiveness of cost models WE DON'T NEED SUPERHEROES, JUST SUPER MINDS!
