Senior Mobile QA Engineer

Location: Canada - Remote

Experience: 7–10 Years

Employment Type: Full-Time/Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile QA Engineer with 7–10 years of experience in mobile application testing and telecom domain validation. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in testing Android, iOS, and wearable applications, along with hands-on experience validating mobile voice, VoIP, and telephony features across different network environments.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of mobile applications through comprehensive manual and automation testing while collaborating closely with development, product, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for mobile applications.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing across Android, iOS, and wearable devices.
Validate mobile voice calling, VoIP, telephony applications, and SIP-based communication features.
Perform mobile network testing across Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, and 5G environments.
Validate call quality, audio performance, network transitions, and handoff scenarios.
Troubleshoot issues related to mobile connectivity, call failures, latency, packet loss, and network performance.
Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Appium, Selenium, and Java.
Perform API testing using industry-standard tools.
Track, document, and manage defects using Jira and participate in defect triage meetings.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams throughout the Agile development lifecycle.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and release validation activities.
Ensure software quality by identifying risks early and recommending process improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

7–10 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a strong focus on mobile application testing.
Hands-on experience testing Android, iOS, and wearable applications.
Strong experience in telecom domain validation.
Experience testing:
Mobile calling applications
VoIP applications
Telephony platforms
SIP call flows
Audio quality and call quality
Network handoff and roaming scenarios
Experience validating applications over:
Wi-Fi
4G/LTE
5G networks
Strong understanding of:
Telecom protocols
Call routing
Network latency
Packet loss analysis
Mobile network troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with:
Appium
Selenium
Java
API Testing
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Strong defect management and reporting skills.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Technical Skills

Mobile automation framework development.
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) exposure.
Experience with:
Jira
Git
Jenkins
Familiarity with test reporting and quality metrics.
Knowledge of mobile performance and stability testing.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is a plus.
Experience working in enterprise-scale telecom or mobile application environments is highly preferred.
