You will manage an array of employment issues, from discrimination to health and safety regulations. The Assistant General Counsel is essential in overseeing litigation and counseling on employee rights under both US and Canadian laws. The role requires a seasoned attorney who is adept at legal reasoning and strategic compliance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice on employment law issues
  • Manage claims and litigation effectively for both regions
  • Review and prepare legal documentation and policies
  • Advise on compliance and mitigate legal liabilities
  • Liaise with HR and external firms for support

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to NJ bar or eligibility for in-house licensing
  • 5-10 years of relevant legal experience
  • Licensed to practice in New Jersey or equivalent state
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
