Job Duties Job Duties The Senior Research Associate will provide advanced research leadership and coordination support across applied research and scholarly initiatives. Working collaboratively with the Principal Investigator (PI), the Senior Research Associate will contribute to the design, implementation, analysis, knowledge mobilization, and dissemination of research activities. The role requires strong project coordination, analytical, and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to work independently within complex and evolving research environments.

In the appointment of a Senior Research Associate, general duties and responsibilities will include:

• Complete required institutional and research ethics training modules (e.g., TCPS 2: CORE)
• Lead and support environmental scans, literature reviews, evidence syntheses, and reference validation activities
• Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of applied research projects
• Assist with research design, data collection, data analysis, and interpretation of findings
• Contribute to the development of research reports, grant applications, manuscripts, briefing documents, and knowledge translation materials
• Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement activities
• Support dissemination activities, including presentations, reports, workshops, and conference submissions
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, students, healthcare partners, and community organizations
• Establish and maintain collegial and professional working relationships with research team members and partners
• Support quality improvement and continuous evaluation activities related to research initiatives
• Provide mentorship and guidance to research assistants or junior team members, where appropriate
• Undertake additional research-related activities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

• Minimum of a four-year undergraduate degree or master’s degree in a related discipline
• Minimum of three years of experience leading applied research projects or equivalent research experience
• Demonstrated experience conducting literature reviews, environmental scans, and/or qualitative or quantitative data collection and analysis
• Experience supporting scholarly writing, reporting, and knowledge mobilization activities
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet established deadlines
• Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
• Experience engaging and collaborating with stakeholders across academic, healthcare, or community settings is considered an asset
• Demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic environments
• Demonstrates valuing diversity and contributing to inclusive and respectful working and learning environments
