Job description
Samms Tech SPM Automation is looking for an experienced Assembly Technician with hands-on experience in Special Purpose Machines (SPM). The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, machine alignment, pneumatic systems, and machine commissioning. Candidates must have prior experience in assembling SPM machines and should be capable of independently handling machine assembly activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble Special Purpose Machines (SPM) as per engineering drawings and assembly standards.
- Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, GA drawings, and BOMs.
- Assemble machine structures, linear guides, ball screws, bearings, gearboxes, motors, and other mechanical components.
- Install and align pneumatic cylinders, valves, FRL units, and other pneumatic components.
- Perform machine alignment, leveling, and precision adjustments.
- Conduct machine trials and support commissioning activities.
- Identify and troubleshoot assembly-related issues to ensure smooth machine operation.
- Coordinate with the Design, Electrical, PLC, and Production teams during machine build and testing.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Dial Gauge, Height Gauge, and Spirit Level.
- Ensure all assembly work is completed as per quality and safety standards.
- Maintain assembly records and support machine installation at customer sites whenever required.

- Hands-on experience in SPM machine assembly.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components and machine building.
- Good understanding of pneumatic systems and machine alignment.
- Ability to read engineering and assembly drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience handling precision measuring instruments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
