Role Description The Junior Software Engineer will work on the development, maintenance, and enhancement of e-governance and information system modules used by universities and higher education institutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing back-end features, writing clean and efficient code, fixing bugs, and participating in code reviews under the guidance of senior engineers. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand functional requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and supporting deployment and integration activities. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Surat, requiring regular coordination with project stakeholders and adherence to established development and security standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and basic software engineering concepts.
- Practical experience or training in Software Development and Programming, with familiarity in at least one modern programming language (such as Java, Python, or C#).
- Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them in designing and implementing modular, maintainable code.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow coding standards, and work effectively in a collaborative, on-site team environment.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic software development lifecycle practices.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to engage with non-technical stakeholders in the education sector.
- Exposure to government or large-scale enterprise systems, and an interest in e-governance, is an advantage.
