Description

SAIC is seeking a skilled Geographical Information Systems (GIS) specialist with expertise in Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes. This role involves supporting the design, development, and maintenance of geospatial data within a dynamic Enterprise Data Warehouse environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Development of spatial data structures, data loading business rules, and Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) ETL models to load geospatial data from source systems
  • Database support that includes knowledge of relational database including Oracle or Postgres database, ESRI SDE, and ESRI File geodatabase formats
  • Troubleshooting data issues
  • Documenting ETL processes and data requirements and ensuring metadata compliance
  • Working with data stewards from government agencies and commercial entities to facilitate data needs and requirements for the U.S. Forest Service
  • Provide support for monitoring daily ETL processes and resolving ETL issues as they arise

Position is 100% telework.

Qualifications

Education

  • 9 years or more of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT Environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hands on experience with Safe Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), Informatica, or similar Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools
  • Oracle or Postgres database development skills including SQL and PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of ESRI Enterprise Geodatabase (SDE) for Oracle or similar relational database system.
  • Spatial data formats including ESRI ST_Geometry, File Geodatabase, and shapefile
  • Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Tools including ArcPro
  • Software development lifecycle and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills, time-management, decision-making, and basic task organizational skills.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
