Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Specialist/Lead to support the design, implementation, and governance of access management for a major Clinical Information System (CIS) within a healthcare environment. The role will focus on implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), coordinating IAM initiatives, and ensuring secure, compliant access for clinical and operational users.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Informatics, or a related discipline. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience leading the design and implementation of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for a Clinical Information System in an acute care or hospital setting, including defining and managing roles for physicians and clinical users.
- 5+ years of experience leading or coordinating Identity and Access Management (IAM) activities for large healthcare organizations, including current-state assessments, gap analysis, and planning for major system implementations.
- 5+ years of experience leading project teams or workstreams with responsibility for timelines, deliverables, staffing coordination, risk management, and status reporting.
- 5+ years of experience collaborating with enterprise IAM or Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) specialists (e.g., directory services, identity lifecycle management, authentication, access governance).
Desirable Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of experience working with clinicians, clinical informatics teams, and operational staff to analyze workflows and identify identity, access, and authentication needs affecting system adoption.
- 5+ years of experience supporting integration of clinical or enterprise systems with IAM/IGA components such as directory services, MFA, SSO, identity lifecycle tools, and access governance processes.
- 3+ years of experience working with cloud-based IAM platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, or Ping, including integration with on-premise systems and clinical applications.
- 3+ years of experience applying healthcare privacy, cybersecurity, and access auditing requirements to identity and access decisions.
- 3+ years of experience developing or coordinating IAM governance and operational processes, including identity lifecycle management, access request workflows, access reviews, and role governance.
- Experience facilitating workshops, presenting IAM concepts, and supporting decision-making with stakeholders across technical teams, clinical leadership, and executive levels.
- 10+ years of experience working with health information systems, standards, and technologies, with direct experience supporting Clinical Information Systems.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; bilingual French and English communication is considered an asset.
