Job description

Office Location: Thane or Nashik

Job Purpose

Acquire new customers and drive revenue growth of toll & contract manufacturing services for encapsulated ingredients across food, nutraceutical, flavour, bakery, and allied ingredient segments.

Reports to: CEO or CTO

Principal Responsibilities

  • Generate new business for technology-based toll and contract manufacturing services across food, nutraceutical, flavour, bakery, and functional ingredient segments, including micro-encapsulation, coating & powder layering, agglomeration and allied technologies.
  • Develop new business opportunities for newly developed products and existing food, nutraceutical, flavour, bakery, and functional ingredient solutions.
  • Conduct customer meetings for requirement understanding, technical discussions, trials and sampling, negotiation, and closure.
  • Coordinate with R&D, Production, QA, and Management for trials, feasibility, documentation, and customer support.
  • Maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to increase repeat business.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, customer feedback, and new business opportunities.
  • Maintain CRM, sales forecasts, visit reports, and MIS.
  • Represent Roots Formulations at exhibitions, trade shows, customer visits, and industry events.

Travel Requirement

Approximately 50% to 70% travel is required for client visits, project discussions, exhibitions, trade shows, and other related activities across India.

Education

Graduate or Postgraduate in Food Technology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Nutrition, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or Business Management. MBA or equivalent management qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

8 to 12 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or key account management in food ingredients, nutraceutical ingredients, flavours, specialty ingredients, excipients, dietary supplements. Experience in encapsulated ingredients, functional ingredients, premixes, or toll & contract manufacturing will be preferred.

Knowledge:

Market trends, competitor landscape, food and nutraceutical ingredient applications, encapsulation technologies, product and process know-how, customer segments, technical updates, and regulatory awareness.

Skills

Negotiation, strategic business development, new customer acquisition, key account management, technical selling, presentation, communication, CRM usage, sales forecasting, pipeline management, and time management.
