The Clinical Submission Data and Content Generation & Reuse function focuses on modernizing the creation and management of clinical data and regulatory submission assets (data and content). It develops and deploys platforms for structured content management, enabling the reuse of approved components across documents. This group also pioneers the use of agentic AI to assist in generating, reviewing, and assembling complex submission assets (data and content), aiming to improve quality and reduce authoring timelines.

The Opportunity:

The Senior IT Data Scientist is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing data-driven solutions to complex business problems. This role involves independently identifying analytical opportunities, conducting in-depth data exploration and analysis, and building, testing, and deploying predictive models using various machine learning techniques. You will own projects from inception to deployment, leveraging strong programming, statistical modeling, and data visualization skills, while clearly communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Operating in a highly regulated GxP environment, you will build specialized AI agents that assist Analytical Data Scientists across the clinical data lifecycle. This requires a deep understanding of advanced generative AI, Graph-based Retrieval-Augmented Generation (GraphRAG). You will balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, frequently contributing to the team's technical roadmap. You will be responsible for identifying analytical and automation opportunities, owning projects from inception to completion. In addition, your responsibilities include:

  • Scope / (Content Leadership): Leads the development and deployment of models. Works independently on specific data science projects from start to finish.

  • Accountability/Problem Solving: Leads the analysis of complex business and data problems, performs thorough domain research, and drives root cause analysis. Identifies and solves intermediate to complex data challenges while collaborating on data validity to ensure accuracy with minimal supervision. Accountable for delivering comprehensive requirements that bridge business needs with technical data capabilities.

  • Stakeholder Management: Engages with broader business units to clearly understand and meet their data needs. Presents analytical findings and insights to various stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.

  • Impact/Strategy: Drives medium-sized projects that directly influence business decisions. Ensures that projects are closely aligned with broader business objectives and strategies.

  • Complexity / (Product Size): Handles larger, more complex datasets. Develops new predictive models from scratch and optimizes existing ones to improve performance.

  • Business/Technical ability: Demonstrates a conceptual understanding of business and technical domains, technologies, and their interdependencies. Applies proficiency in requirements gathering, data structures, usability, and process analysis to manage interconnections and improve overall efficiency. Leverages a strong functional knowledge of advanced statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and agentic AI capabilities to address business questions without requiring direct hands-on model deployment or coding.

Who you are:

Education / Experience

  • You hold a B. Sc or M.Sc. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field, with 5 to 7+ years of industrial experience in complex data science/AI engineering projects.

  • You demonstrate experience in independently identifying analytical opportunities, conducting in-depth data exploration, and owning projects from inception to deployment.

  • You have a proven track record of driving medium-sized projects that influence business decisions and align with strategic objectives.

Technical Skills

  • You are proficient in multiple programming languages and advanced data manipulation.

  • You demonstrate strong, in-depth knowledge of advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.

  • You possess strong data visualization and statistical modeling skills to support comprehensive data analysis.

Additional Qualifications

  • You have exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to various stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
