Vice President, Business Development (Wealth Management)

Location: Remote (Ontario & Atlantic Canada – travel required)

Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing wealth management organization, is seeking a Vice President, Business Development to lead advisor recruitment across Ontario and Atlantic Canada. This is a senior, high-impact role focused on winning top-tier financial advisors and driving meaningful growth through a highly differentiated, advisor-first value proposition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead advisor recruitment efforts across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, targeting high-quality independent advisors and advisory teams
  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle from prospecting and relationship development through to negotiation and transition
  • Leverage your existing network within the advisor community to generate opportunities and accelerate growth
  • Present a compelling and differentiated value proposition centred on advisor independence, flexibility, and long-term partnership
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective advisors and manage complex, high-stakes recruitment processes
  • Collaborate with internal leadership and operational teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience
  • Represent the organization at industry events and act as a visible ambassador within the advisor community

What we’re looking for:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in wealth management, financial services, or advisor distribution
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or advisor recruitment
  • Strong existing network within the financial advisor community
  • Deep understanding of advisor economics, dealer platforms, and independent business models
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with high-performing, sophisticated advisors
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and comfortable operating in a senior, autonomous role

Nice to have

  • Experience recruiting advisors or advisory teams
  • Background in broker-dealer, asset management, or wholesaling environments
  • Experience navigating long, consultative sales cycles
