Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a legal organization in Richmond, Virginia. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of core accounting principles who is eager to build hands-on experience in an office setting. The position will focus on day-to-day financial accuracy, account reconciliation, and support for routine accounting activities while providing training on internal systems and processes.Responsibilities:

• Match invoices to supporting records and verify that transactions are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
• Prepare and reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Record journal entries and maintain accurate financial data within the general ledger.
• Assist with sales tax and corporate tax-related accounting tasks, including organizing information needed for filings and compliance support.
• Review debits and credits to ensure entries are posted correctly and align with standard accounting practices.
• Support month-end accounting activities by helping organize records, reconcile balances, and maintain reporting accuracy.
• Work with internal tools and accounting systems, learning established workflows and applying them consistently in daily tasks.
