Schedule & Work Settings
- Full-Time: 30 to 40 hours per week (Typical shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
- Part-Time: 20 to 25 hours per week (Typical shift: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
- Standby / PRN: Onboard immediately to be first in line as localized vacancies open up.
- The Setting: LPNs primarily assist medically fragile students in a 1:1 capacity by monitoring and providing care throughout the school day in accordance with the student’s care plan. (Note: health suite opportunities are available but are uncommon and only serve to aid the overseeing RN).
Key Clinical Responsibilities
In the school health suite, you will utilize your clinical skills to support a diverse student population with varying medical needs, including:
- Safe and accurate Medication Administration.
- Diabetes management and tracking.
- G-Tube / MIC-KEY Tube feedings and care.
- Tracheostomy care and monitoring.
- Implementing necessary seizure precautions and protocols.
- Performing straight and Foley catheterizations as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: Active, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Maryland or a Multi-State Compact license.
- Certification: Current CPR / BLS Certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (RN or LPN backgrounds are both valued).
Paid Onboarding & Preparation (Approx. 2 Weeks)
We ensure you are never thrown into a school setting unprepared. Our comprehensive pre-hire training takes approximately 2 weeks and includes:
- Ro Health Onboarding: Specialized paid pediatric skills training.
- PGCPS Training: Completion of SafeSchools Online Training and PGCPS Fingerprints
