Cable Technician II - 3rd Shift 4/10's

RIGHTECH is working with a national integrator who is supporting an end user in Tysons corner. We are looking for Structured Cable Technician II's for a wireless access point upgrade which includes running new cabling.

This is a third shift, working four 10 hour days.

This is a 3 - 4 month contract.

Key Responsibilities: Cabling: Run, terminate, and test CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables according to industry standards. Ladder Work: Safely work on ladders to install and maintain equipment at heights. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including cable runs, installations, and troubleshooting steps. Dress and route cable into IT closets, pathways, and other work area outlets. Cable management (dressing, labeling). Cable Termination (Patch Panel, Jacks, Keystones, RJ-45/Modular Plug). IT Closet Builds (MDF, IDF, Data rack, ladder rack, cable tray, sleeve installation) Installation and removal of wireless access points Read and follow blueprints set for installation. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience in running, terminating and testing CAT 6 cables and installing network hardware. Experience with RJ45 Jacks. Physical Requirements: Ability to work on ladders and overhead Technical Skills: Basic understanding of cabling infrastructure. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently. Communication: Good communication skills to interact with team members and clients. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety practices related to working with electrical equipment, ladders, and power tools.

Required Tools: Basic hand tools, Screwdriver (multi-Bit), Torpedo level, Tape measure, Snips, Pliers (needle nose and channel locks) , Cable stripper, punch down tool, modular plug crimper, Flashlight, Fish tape, Electrical tape, Impact driver, Various sizes of wood, metal and masonry drill bits, Various sizes and types of driver bits PPE: Safety Vest, Safety Glasses, Work Gloves, Hard Hat, Work Boots (Steel toe or composite)
