Job description

Are you a detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for solving complex reconciliation challenges? Do you enjoy investigating data discrepancies, ensuring operational accuracy, and collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to keep investment operations running smoothly? Are you excited to leverage automation and AI to transform middle- and back-office workflows? If so, we invite you to join our innovative team.

As an Investment Operations Analyst – Reconciliation, you'll play a critical role in supporting Ridgeline customers by owning daily reconciliation activities across cash, positions, tax lots, and securities. You'll investigate and resolve operational exceptions, ensure customers begin each trading day with accurate data, and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes through automation. Working closely with customers, Product, and Engineering, you'll help shape the future of managed investment operations while leveraging cutting-edge technology, including AI tools such as ChatGPT, to deliver scalable, forward-thinking solutions.

This position follows a 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM ET schedule to provide critical reconciliation support before the trading day begins, ensuring customers are operationally ready when markets open.

At Ridgeline, how we work matters as much as what we build. Ridgeliners act like owners, choose growth over comfort, and communicate with transparency. We assume positive intent, bias toward action, and bring solutions—not just problems. We celebrate wins, learn from setbacks, and thrive in a resilient, collaborative, high-performing culture. If this excites you, we’d love to meet you.

You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

The impact you will have:

  • Account Administration – Manage new account setups, maintenance updates, and portfolio group terminations as directed by customers.
  • Investment Accounting – Execute financial transaction recording on a trade-date basis, oversee income/expense accruals, and facilitate period-end close processes.
  • Trade Support & Settlement – Coordinate post-trade workflows including broker communication, CTM matching, confirmations, and allocations to ensure accurate T+1 settlement.
  • Corporate Actions – Oversee mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, ensuring all activity is reconciled through rigorous standard controls.
  • Data Management – Administer daily pricing, FX rates, and security master data, resolving vendor exceptions in compliance with customer policies.
  • Reconciliation – Conduct daily reconciliations of positions, cash, and tax lots; proactively research and document the resolution of breaks.
  • Performance Reporting – Deliver daily and monthly performance analytics ensuring GIPS compliance and addressing complex return inquiries.
  • Client Success – Investigate operational inquiries and surface data-driven insights to enhance both customer outcomes and platform functionality.
  • Operational Innovation – Leverage AI/ML and automation to design scalable workflows and streamline manual processes.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in investment operations or a related middle/back-office function.
  • Familiarity with portfolio accounting, reconciliation, performance reporting, and trade lifecycle management.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve breaks and exceptions independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with customers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Google Apps or MS Office, especially spreadsheets.
  • Curiosity about new technologies, including AI-driven tools, and willingness to learn.

Bonus:

  • Experience with enterprise SaaS or fintech platforms.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Slack, JIRA, Confluence, or Kantata.
  • Exposure to APIs, AWS, or other cloud-based architectures.
  • CFA or CPA designation (or progress towards one).
