Role Overview

We are seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of Revel software by building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our continuous integration and testing workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow into a specialized and high-impact discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain hardware-in-the-loop systems.
  • Define and integrate test equipment and instrumentation necessary for HIL testing.
  • Administer and scale the HIL build and compute infrastructure used for continuous integration (CI).
  • Drive improvements in HIL testing effectiveness through best practices, tooling, and process enhancements.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, automation, and security throughout the deployment lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience in a software engineering role.
  • Foundational experience with Python, particularly in scripting or automation.
  • Eagerness to learn server infrastructure, CI/CD systems, and embedded testing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to data acquisition systems or industrial IoT / Industry 4.0 environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems administration.
  • Interest in or coursework related to hardware-software integration, spacecraft, aircraft, or autonomous vehicles.
  • Any exposure to Rust is a strong plus.

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.

  • 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $90,000 – $161,000. Actual compensation will depend on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. Revel is committed to paying fairly and competitively — the posted range reflects what we genuinely expect to pay for this role.
