Job Description
Our client is seeking a 24/7 Support Specialist to support the daily operations, monitoring, and maintenance of critical data centre and technology infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and operational integrity of systems, facilities, and workflows through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and adherence to established operational procedures and runbooks.
Duration: 12 months
Schedule: 24/7/365 coverage – Four-on, Four-off, 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays)
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain daily operations of data centre infrastructure, systems, facilities, and operational workflows.
- Execute system runbooks, production control activities, scheduled jobs, and enterprise automation processes.
- Monitor system consoles, respond to alerts, troubleshoot issues, and escalate incidents as required.
- Support access control procedures to ensure secure and uninterrupted operations.
- Perform data backup, recovery, records management, and archiving activities.
- Maintain operational logs, incident documentation, and shift handover reports.
- Ensure adherence to established operational procedures and service standards within a 24/7 environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in technology operations, infrastructure support, data centre operations, or a related IT function.
- Minimum 1 year of Service Desk Support experience.
- Hands-on experience with technical troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Experience with Enterprise Automation Scheduling and operational workflow management.
- Knowledge of data centre operations, computer operations, production control, and system/console monitoring.
- Experience supporting data backup, recovery, records management, and archiving processes.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work a 24/7/365 four-on, four-off, 12-hour rotating shift schedule in an on-site environment.
