Job Description

Our client is seeking a contract based Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Developer to design, build, test, and support scalable, data-driven customer journeys across email and SMS channels.

The ideal candidate combines strong SFMC technical expertise with hands-on QA/testing capabilities and a deep understanding of data, integration, and consent management in regulated environments.

Location: Hybrid 4d/week Markham

Duration: 6 months w/ option to covert to FT

Responsibilities

  • Design and build customer journeys using Journey Builder (email, SMS, lifecycle)
  • Develop automations in Automation Studio (SQL, data logic, segmentation)
  • Create dynamic, personalized emails using AMPscript, HTML, and CSS
  • Manage data models, Data Extensions, Contact Builder, and subscriber strategy
  • Implement and support Marketing Cloud Connect with Salesforce
  • Own QA and validation of journeys, automations, emails, and SMS
  • Validate data accuracy, personalization, journey logic, and decisioning
  • Perform email testing (rendering, deliverability) and support UAT
  • Conduct pre- and post-deployment validation and resolve defects
  • Ensure compliance with CASL, consent, unsubscribe, and suppression logic
  • Monitor and support production journeys, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
  • Collaborate in Agile teams and maintain documentation and runbooks

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, and Contact Builder
  • Proficiency in AMPscript, SQL, and HTML/CSS
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud Connect and Salesforce Sales Cloud integration
  • Solid understanding of SFMC data models, subscriber keys, and consent management
  • Experience testing SFMC journeys, automations, and campaigns end-to-end
  • Familiarity with email testing tools (e.g., Litmus, Email on Acid)
  • Ability to execute UAT, validate logic, and identify data issues
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (nice to have)
  • Experience with SMS / transactional messaging and Azure or enterprise integrations
  • Experience in regulated environments (privacy, compliance)
