Job Description

At Regions, the Information Technology Application Support Analyst supports software systems, provides troubleshooting, technical assistance, installation, and training to software users. This position also ensures that application support documentation is maintained to the highest quality.

Primary Responsibilities

Obtains information on application design and functionality to propose solutions to end users

Responds to client inquiries concerning software operation and troubleshoots system software and operator complications

Monitors routine and critical processes and workflows to proactively identify problem trends

Assists with application implementations and configuration

Performs root cause analysis and provides technical solutions to production related application errors

Performs application testing in various environments

Deploys service releases, patches, requests, and customizations

Exercises independence of thought, but complex problems may be referred to senior associates or supervisor/manager

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience

Or Associate's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience

Or High School Diploma and seven (7) years of experience

Skills and Competencies

Ability to communicate technical problems and solutions to non-technical users

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Job Description

This position requires strong technical ability with SQL Server, data marts, APIs, C#/.NET, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Application Support & Troubleshooting

Respond to user inquiries regarding application operation, workflow issues, and system errors.

Diagnose and resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable long‑term fixes.

Monitor application health, scheduled jobs, integrations, and workflows to proactively identify and prevent recurring failures.

Assist with application configuration, implementations, and production support readiness activities.

Deployment, Environment, & CI/CD Support

Execute deployments for releases, patches, configuration updates, and data fixes across dev/test/prod environments.

Utilize CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Harness) for automated build, test, and deployment processes.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve pipeline quality, deployment reliability, and environment consistency.

Validate releases through functional tests, regression tests, and environment verification.

SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS & Data Mart Responsibilities

Write, debug, and optimize T‑SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.

Support data mart operations, including troubleshooting ETL/ELT loads and performing data validation.

Investigate discrepancies across operational systems, staging layers, and analytical data models.

Collaborate with data engineering teams on schema design, indexing strategies, and performance improvements.

Design, build, and implement new data marts, including schema modeling (star/snowflake), data pipelines, and documentation.

Knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, or similar reporting tools.

API & Integration Responsibilities

Troubleshoot REST and SOAP integrations, including authentication, payload validation, and API error handling.

Design and develop new APIs (REST/JSON or SOAP/XML) for internal or external system integrations, ensuring security, scalability, and proper documentation.

C#/.NET Development & Automation

Use C#/.NET to build support utilities, automation scripts, log analyzers, and small enhancement fixes.

Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and change management requirements.

Documentation & Stakeholder Support

Create and maintain knowledge base articles, process documentation, and training materials.

Communicate clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Provide user assistance and training on application features and workflows as needed.

Required Technical Skills

Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and T‑SQL.

Experience developing and maintaining data marts and ETL/ELT processes.

Experience supporting and integrating APIs (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML).

Experience with C#/.NET development.

Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (build automation, deployments, Git, branching strategy).

Experience supporting production environments with structured change control.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA, and Charlotte, NC,. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Job Range Target:

Minimum: $77,361.90 USD

Median: $98,670.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans: This job is not incentive eligible.
