Your Opportunity:

Recovery Alberta is seeking a full-time Mental Health Therapist to support children, youth, and their families through our specialized program-Multidisciplinary Treatment Services (MITS) program at the Wood Buffalo Addiction & Mental Health Services (WAMHS) in Fort McMurray. The MITS program delivers comprehensive assessment and treatment services for children and adolescents experiencing significant emotional, psychological, behavioral, or psychiatric challenges. Services are also extended to their families as part of a holistic, family centered approach. In this role, you will work both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team. You will provide evidence informed mental health care through crisis intervention, clinical assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment planning. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to support a variety of programs, including the Walk-In Clinic, Travel Team, and Community Mental Health Services. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Recovery Alberta currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Description

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A valid Class V driver’s license. This role requires some travel, to rural and remote communities to provide/facilitate mental health services. Availability to work evenings as required. Restricted Psychosocial Interventions (RAPI) authorization.
