Role Overview:
You will be a highly experienced US GAAP accounting professional with solid technical accounting expertise to support client-facing engagements. Your role will involve providing hands-on expertise on US GAAP technical accounting matters, identifying and resolving accounting issues, and leading the onboarding of new clients to establish scalable and compliant monthly accounting processes. Additionally, you will review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, guide teams on proper accounting policies, and ensure clients are set up for accurate monthly accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on expertise on US GAAP technical accounting matters
- Identify, assess, and resolve accounting and accrual-related issues across client accounts
- Research and document accounting treatments for complex transactions
- Review financial statements for accuracy, compliance, and consistency with US GAAP
- Lead onboarding of new clients, establish chart of accounts, accounting policies, and monthly close processes
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and management reports
- Ensure strong internal controls and audit readiness
- Support ongoing client needs with accounting guidance and issue resolution
- Mentor and guide accounting teams on technical matters and best practices
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including AP, AR, Payroll, and Tax
Qualifications Required:
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven experience in technical accounting analysis and issue resolution
- Prior experience working with US-based clients
- Experience in client onboarding or transition of accounting services
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, or similar)
- Background in public accounting, advisory, or outsourced accounting services
- Experience documenting accounting policies and technical memos
