The Receiver/Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department at Raytheon specializes in cutting-edge receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technologies. We focus on the design, development, integration, and support of high-quality production builds to ensure the lifecycle success of Raytheon products.

As a Senior Principal Hardware Production Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in addressing design and manufacturing challenges, delivering innovative solutions for product assembly, integration, testing, statistical process control, and the transition to production. You'll serve as a key liaison among design engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers, working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve production issues effectively.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Troubleshooting hardware, test stations, and process issues down to CCA and component levels.
  • Resolving design issues within RTX production lines and with suppliers.
  • Conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Performing circuit analysis, including characterization, modeling, and simulation of electronic signals in subsystems.
  • Identifying and implementing design updates for circuit cards and subassemblies.
  • Processing Engineering Change Notices through the Configuration Control Board process.
  • Supporting the transition to production of innovative new products.
  • Collaborating in developing and troubleshooting test equipment and establishing test requirements and procedures.
  • Engaging in cross-site collaboration for comprehensive program support.
  • This is a first-shift role, 100% onsite in Tewksbury, MA, with expected travel to several sites including Andover, MA.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of experience, or an Advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting RF, analog, digital, and/or mixed signal circuits.
  • Experience in failure analysis and Root-Cause Corrective Action investigations, preferably regarding supplier and factory challenges.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, including oversight, coordination, and preparation of detailed technical reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in RF, analog, and/or digital design.
  • Experience with RF and Microwave component testing and troubleshooting, including up-converters, down-converters, power amplifiers, waveform generators, and RF modulators.
  • Familiarity with cost estimation and earned value tracking and reporting.
  • Experience with subsystem integration and testing.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods for production yield improvements.
  • Technical writing and formal presentation skills.
  • Experience with tools like Mentor Graphics Designer, PSPICE, System Vision, MATLAB, Mathcad, IDL, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), and Advanced Design System (ADS).
