We're Hiring: Team Lead, Engineering – Next.js, Node.js & AWS

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Team: Engineering Hub

Salary : 125k plus 10% bonus.

About the Role

Are you passionate about building fast, scalable, and cloud-native web applications—and leading talented engineers to do the same? We’re looking for a Team Lead who thrives in modern JavaScript ecosystems, mentors others, and drives technical excellence across projects.

You’ll lead a team delivering high-impact solutions using Next.js, Node.js, and AWS, shaping architecture decisions and ensuring best practices for performance, security, and scalability.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering growth and collaboration
  • Own technical direction for full-stack applications built with Next.js and Node.js
  • Design and review scalable APIs and serverless functions with AWS Lambda & API Gateway
  • Architect and deploy cloud-native solutions using AWS SAM, Cognito, S3, DynamoDB and more
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and DevOps teams
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices
  • Drive performance, security, and reliability improvements across the stack
  • What You Bring
  • Proven experience as a Team Lead or Senior Engineer with leadership responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and modern frameworks like Next.js, React, Vue or angular
  • Expertise in Node.js and back-end development
  • Hands-on experience building cloud-native apps on AWS
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Agile workflows
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication, and security best practices

Bonus Skills

  • TypeScript, GraphQL, Python and SQL experience
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or another container tech
  • Exposure to monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or ELK Stack
