Job description
Are you a Communication Professional with adequate experience in the filed? This 7-months role with chances of extension can be a good fit for you.
- The Communication Professional Level 2 provides senior-level communication support and advice for project communication, change management, and stakeholder engagement involving high profile and/or high-risk communication activities to support successful completion of assigned projects and initiatives safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.

Travel may be required to Non Integrated Areas(NIA) depending on business needs.

Responsibilities
- A minimum seven (7) years of communication strategy or communication advisory work experience or equivalent.
- Compose, write, and edit communication materials including newsletters, management reports, and presentations by using expert skills in communication, planning, and implementation as well as good knowledge of project management principles to support assigned business groups.
- Lead communication planning for formal programs and projects, including developing required deliverables, providing progress reports, and presenting implementation plans to business leads, steering committees, and/or executive sponsors so that assigned projects and initiatives are successfully implemented as planned.
- Create effective communication plans by using consultative methodologies and techniques including online platforms to accurately determine communication needs of the assigned project or initiative.
- Act as subject matter expert by advising on communication and stakeholder relations best practices, models, standards, policies and procedures to help build communication capability.
- Collaborate with business teams in complex organization by using persuasive influence, excellent business knowledge, and fluency in news, ideas, and culture to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders so that projects and strategic initiatives are successfully completed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, Indigenous Studies, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or stakeholder engagement, with experience on complex, multi-stakeholder or infrastructure/energy projects.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to distill complex technical, regulatory, or energy concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences.
Experience with digital and multimedia communications (websites, social media, video, newsletters) and content management.
Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust-based relationships and work effectively in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
Willingness and ability to travel to remote NIA communities as needed.
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license (or equivalent) and clean driving record.
Preferred / Assets
Experience in the energy/utilities sector, regulatory environments, or government/public sector communications.

Expertise in taking technical information and putting it into language that will be easy to understand for non-technical audiences
If they have expertise in creating over-arching, multi-medium communication strategy (not just ‘executing’ ) – that would be an asset as well.
