Job Description
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to achieve individual catering sales goals. This includes monitoring the status regularly, adjusting strategies as needed, and making outside sales calls to prospective catering customers. You will identify potential key accounts and prioritize strategies to penetrate those accounts effectively.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Clarifying customer requirements and suggesting alternative menus, themes, etc.
- Preparing proposals for clients, outlining details of proposed functions
- Negotiating the sale of catering functions
- Conducting on-site client inspections to showcase available services and capabilities
- Ensuring customer satisfaction with catering business and following up with key contacts regularly
- Communicating clients' requests to all departments effectively and in a timely manner
In addition to the above responsibilities, you will be expected to create 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Yes I Can! experience through genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations. This includes taking personal responsibility, using teamwork, and resolving guest problems promptly and empathetically.
Qualifications required for this role:
- Minimum one to three years of hotel catering or convention experience
- High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience managing to brand standards
- Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers
- General knowledge of contract laws
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and mathematical skills

Additionally, maintaining a high standard of personal grooming at all times and projecting a favourable image of the Hotel to the public is essential.
