Network Engineer @ Bangalore

Position: Network Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Duration: Contract to Hire

• Knows the IPVPN configuration (Customer Edge and Provider Edge routers)
• Knows Radius configurations
• Good Communication Skills
• Willing to work in shifts.

Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities

• Configure, Install, Test, Commission and Document new network installations
• Assist Project and Service Transition teams in validating project designs.
• Act as point of contact for projects as necessary to help manage delivery/implementation.
• Build router/switch configuration from low level design documents or templates.
• Stage Cisco/HP devices for customer HQ and branches.
• Adhere to change management processes to ensure implementations are controlled and managed with minimal impact to the network.
• Write Core Requests for new circuit builds.
• On-board new customers, new circuits and services.
• Perform customer migrations.
• Support out of hours customer migrations as required.
• Read, prove and commit customer change requests.
• Manage Project and run-rate stock.
• Manage returned faulty stock from the field
• Manage Maintenance & Critical spares stock.

Knowledge and Experience

• Proven track record of building and delivering to agreed scheduled timelines.
• Strong grasp of Cisco command line configuration and debugging
• Strong communication and team-player skills.
• Multitasking – be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Time & Customer focused
• Self-motivated to improve processes and procedures
• Certifications in HP or Cisco Networking technologies at any level, such as ESE. ESSE, HP (LAN, WAN and Voice), CCNA, CCNP
