Engineering Lead – Enterprise Cloud

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to join us in Sydney. This is a high-impact engineering leadership role at the forefront of Quantium’s enterprise cloud engagements. You will shape how we design, build, and deliver cloud platforms for major clients, with AWS as the primary focus while remaining adaptable across cloud and technology ecosystems as client needs evolve.

This is a player-coach leadership role combining cloud architecture, technical delivery, consulting, and people leadership. You will lead and mentor a small team of engineers while remaining technically credible and hands-on when needed.

Your decisions will directly influence how enterprise clients build and scale secure, resilient, and commercially pragmatic cloud platforms. While strong AWS capability is core, we are looking for leaders who think beyond a single platform, remain open to other technologies, and are comfortable stretching into new domains where the solution demands it.

You will combine deep cloud engineering capability with stakeholder leadership, commercial awareness, delivery ownership, and the ability to create clarity in complex environments.

How will you make an impact?

• Lead cloud platform architecture and delivery for enterprise clients, with AWS as the primary focus while staying adaptable across other cloud and technology ecosystems
• Directly manage, mentor, and develop a small team of cloud engineers, raising engineering quality, delivery standards, and architectural maturity
• Act as the technical authority in client workshops, architecture reviews, and stakeholder discussions, translating business needs into pragmatic cloud solutions
• Design secure, resilient, and cost-efficient cloud environments, making clear trade-offs across performance, compliance, commercial constraints, and long-term sustainability
• Shape repeatable engineering practices and platform patterns across Quantium’s cloud capability, while staying hands-on enough to guide implementation and unblock teams

The superpowers you will bring to the team

• Deep experience as an Engineering Lead, Lead Cloud Architect, or Platform Architect, with strong AWS expertise and broader cloud adaptability
• Proven experience being a direct manager and leading and developing engineers, with a genuine interest in building team capability
• Strong cloud architecture depth across networking, IAM, security, scalability, resilience, cost optimisation, and platform foundations
• Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence clients, engineers, security teams, and senior business leaders
• Based in Sydney, or open to relocating, with the ability to work in a hybrid environment from our Sydney office
