MONTREAL [Hybrid] - Clearance and Settlement Specialist

We are looking for Clearance and Settlement Specialist to work with one of our clients, an international bank based in Montreal.

What You'll Do

• Process settlements for fixed income, equity, and options products across Canadian markets
• Reconcile cash positions and securities records between custodians, clearing agents, banks, and internal platforms
• Manage reconciliation of suspense and control accounts
• Produce KPI/KRI reports with thorough root cause analysis and resolution tracking
• Actively follow up to resolve settlement breaks and fails with counterparties
• Ensure smooth operation of all processes related to market transactions — operational, administrative, and financial
• Uphold financial regulations and internal control standards

What We're Looking For

Required

• Hands-on experience with clearing and settlement systems and tools
• Familiarity with Canadian regulatory and compliance frameworks
• Understanding of broker/dealer operations
• Experience mapping and documenting end-to-end system flows
• Bachelor's degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience
• 3–7 years of relevant industry experience
• Solid grasp of trade flows and financial products (fixed income, equities, options)
• In-depth knowledge of both domestic and international settlement processes
• Strong ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
• Proven ability to identify, escalate, and resolve operational issues
• Collaborative mindset with internal teams, clients, and external partners
• Bilingualism required
