Job description
- Location – Saint John, NB
- Travel – Should be open to travel when needed
- Contract Duration: July 27th to Dec 31st
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate projects related to Fixed Asset Accounting activities, including asset capitalization, transfers, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, and dependencies across multiple teams and business units.
- Act as the primary point of contact between Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings, track action items, and ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule.
- Monitor and resolve issues related to fixed asset processes, reporting, and system enhancements.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end fixed asset accounting activities as needed.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, and governance materials.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fixed asset accounting processes and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting and project management.
- Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, capitalization, depreciation, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar) and Microsoft Office tools.
