Position Summary:
Quality Communications, Inc. is seeking Full-Time Cable Technicians (Entry Level to Experienced) to aid in installing, relocating, troubleshooting, termination, and testing of various types of voice, data, fiber, and coax cables.
The ideal candidates will follow company installation policies. Properly operate and maintain tools and equipment. The candidate will need to be able to prepare and maintain time logs, write-ups, and other related documentation in accordance with company policies. Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Position Requirements/Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Show up on time and ready to go.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders and use lifts and to perform the necessary work while on both.
- Comply with customer and company safety and security requirements.
- Work is primarily in Winchester area, but some travel will be within DC / Maryland / Virginia as needed.
- Professional behavior and appearance.
- Overtime may be required. May be required to work varying shifts.
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years structured cabling related experience.
- Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix any problems that may arise.
- Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC standards.
Tools
- Some basic hand tools will be required. List available on request. No immediate major tool investment required.
