"Skills Required:
Based on our architecture direction, the more accurate profile we should target is a Backend Platform Engineer (Java) with the following characteristics:
- Primary strength in backend/API engineering, especially Java (Spring Boot)
- Ability to design and implement a service interface layer that the SPA will use for all authentication and context retrieval
- Strong understanding of OIDC/OAuth, token lifecycles, session abstraction, and secure client/server patterns
- Experience consuming ForgeRock AM via REST APIs and Tree callbacks, rather than authoring custom nodes or heavy scripted-tree extensions
- Ability to normalize FR’s callback model into clean API contracts for the SPA
- Solid grounding in stateless SPA auth patterns, CORS, cookie strategy, token storage, refresh flows, and edge/API gateway considerations
ForgeRock knowledge is still important—particularly understanding how to integrate with Auth Trees—but the heavy lifting will be in designing the Java service layer, not modifying the ForgeRock platform itself.
