Join Our Team as a Clinical Psychologist – Learning Disabilities

Are you a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? We are recruiting for a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to join our client's specialist Learning Disabilities service. While prior experience in Learning Disabilities is a bonus, it’s not essential – we welcome applications from psychologists with a strong foundation in clinical practice and a passion for person-centred care.

This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse settings, including community and inpatient environments, delivering evidence-based interventions and assessments. You’ll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to improving outcomes for individuals with complex needs.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments, including psychometrics and cognitive evaluations.
  • Deliver tailored interventions using a range of psychological models and approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, families, and professionals to develop care plans.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Offer consultation and advice to colleagues across the service.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Doctoral-level training in Clinical Psychology (BPS-accredited)
  • Knowledge of psychometrics and cognitive assessments
  • Experience working across the lifespan in core specialties

Desirable:

  • Experience with Learning Disabilities
  • Training in research methodology or staff training
  • Experience in teaching, supervision, or working in diverse cultural contexts
