Senior Cloud Infrastructure (GCP) Engineer- (Hybrid, NYC)

Publicis Sapient's Financial Services team is seeking Senior Cloud Infrastructure (GCP) Engineers (L1 and L2) to join a team of top-tier technologists. You will design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure and platform services on GCP. In this role, you’ll partner closely with engineering teams to optimize cloud environments and ensure reliable support for business-critical applications.

Must-Haves:

• Only considering U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, GC-EAD, and H4-EAD candidates for this role — not accepting H1-B, OPT, or other work visa types.
• Preference for New York–based candidates or those residing within 25 miles of NYC
• Must be willing to work in a hybrid model, with 3 days per week onsite at 375 Hudson St, New York City

Mandatory skill set required:

• Should have experience working in a Senior Engineer capacity
• Experience in implementing cloud infrastructure and platform services on GCP.
• Managing core services: Compute Engine, Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Functions, GCP IAM etc.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Cloud Infrastructure (GCP):

• Experience designing and implementing scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure and platform services on GCP.
• Experience with designing and implementing Google foundations/landing zones.
• Managing core services: Compute Engine, Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Functions, GCP IAM etc.
• Design and configure networking: VPC, subnets, Cloud Load Balancers, Cloud CDN, VPNs, Interconnects.
• Manage GCP IAM roles, service accounts, and organizational policies.
• Implement storage solutions using Cloud Storage, Filestore, Persistent Disks, and BigQuery (for infra logs/monitoring).

Automation & IaC (Infrastructure as Code):

• Use advanced Terraform (preferred )with Terratest for infrastructure provisioning.
• Ability to write reusable terraform modules
• Automate workflows with Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Develop scripts in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and cloud integrations.

CI/CD Pipelines:

• Build and maintain pipelines for deploying applications to GCP like Jenkins, harness .
• Enable automated testing, canary releases, and blue-green deployments.
• Integrate with artifact repositories (Artifact Registry, Container Registry).

Containers & Orchestration:

• Deploy, monitor, and scale applications on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) .
• Manage Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and operators.
• Apply policies with OPA/Gatekeeper/Kubernetes security best practices.

Security & Compliance:

• Apply least privilege IAM roles and manage secrets with Secret Manager or HashiCorp Vault.
• Secure GKE workloads with Workload Identity, Binary Authorization, Shielded VMs, VPC Service Controls.
• Nice to have Ensure compliance with CIS, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or SOC2 depending on industry.

Cost Optimization:

• Monitor and optimize GCP billing using Budgets, Cost Explorer, and Recommender APIs.
• Implement rightsizing for Compute Engine, GKE nodes, and storage.
• Use preemptible VMs and autoscaling where applicable

Collaboration & Process:

• Work with developers to containerize and deploy applications.
• Document infrastructure, processes, and incident response runbooks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and disaster recovery planning

Set yourself apart with:

• Certifications in GCP Architect and CKAD/CKA and Terraform
• A Financial Services background is good to have but not mandatory.

Additional information:

1. Job Title: Senior Associate Infrastucture L1 (with 5-7 years of experience)

Annual Pay Range (in USD): $113,000 - $130,000

2. Job Title: Senior Associate Infrastucture L2 (with 7-9 years of experience)

Annual Pay Range (in USD): $130,000 - $150,000
