Senior SQL Database Administrator

Pay Range: $70/hour to $80/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, optimization, and reliable performance of our SQL database environments.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. You will play a key role in ensuring database availability, performance, security, and integrity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, and support SQL database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Monitor and troubleshoot relational database environments
• Perform query optimization and database performance tuning
• Implement and manage data replication, backup, and recovery strategies
• Ensure database security, privacy, and compliance best practices are followed
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to support application and infrastructure needs
• Proactively identify and resolve database performance and scalability issues

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as an SQL Database Administrator
• Extensive experience configuring and troubleshooting relational databases
• Strong expertise in query optimization and database performance tuning
• Solid understanding of database security and privacy principles
• Experience with data replication, backup, and recovery processes
• Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Databases is a plus
