Job description
Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.
1st shift: M-Fr 7:00 -3:30pm or 6am - 2:30pm
2nd shift: M-T from 3:30pm - 2:00am
Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Painter to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for preparing and painting aerospace components while ensuring quality, precision, and adherence to safety standards in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare aerospace parts and components for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface prepping.
- Apply primers, coatings, and paint finishes according to specifications and work instructions.
- Inspect painted parts for quality, consistency, and proper coverage.
- Operate spray painting equipment and maintain painting tools and materials.
- Mix paints and coatings to required specifications.
- Ensure proper handling and movement of parts throughout the paint process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work closely with production, quality, and assembly teams to meet deadlines and production goals.
Requirements
- Prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace painting preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with consistency and precision.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods of time.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and moving throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment.
- Bending, lifting, and handling parts using proper lifting techniques.
- Steady and precise hand movement for detailed finishing work.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators and protective clothing, as needed.
