Concierge/Security Guard

Job Summary

We are hiring a dedicated Concierge Security Guard for a residential condominium building located on Kingston Road in Scarborough, Ontario. This hybrid position serves as the friendly frontline ambassador for residents while prioritizing building safety and security. Ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, multitasking, and maintaining a secure, welcoming environment in a community-focused setting near local parks, amenities, and transit in the Scarborough area.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm greetings and outstanding customer service to residents, visitors, and delivery personnel entering the building.
• Monitor CCTV security cameras, building access systems, and alarms to identify and address any potential issues proactively.
• Manage access control: verify IDs, register visitors, issue temporary passes, and ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
• Receive, document, store securely, and distribute packages, mail, and deliveries for residents (coordinating with major couriers).
• Support residents during move-ins/move-outs: assist with paperwork/forms, guide new residents, coordinate with movers, and help ensure a smooth transition.
• Respond to resident requests, including amenity reservations (e.g., party rooms, parking access), noise complaints, directions, or general inquiries.
• Perform regular patrols of the lobby, common areas, parking garage, elevators, and perimeter to uphold safety standards.
• Handle emergencies (e.g., fire alarms, medical situations, security incidents) by providing initial response, contacting emergency services, and following protocols.
• Maintain detailed logs of incidents, daily activities, visitor entries, and parcel movements.
• Enforce condominium rules professionally while de-escalating any conflicts or issues.
• Keep the front desk, lobby, and surrounding areas neat, organized, and professional.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License (mandatory; must be current and in good standing).
• Valid First Aid/CPR Level C certification (or willingness to obtain promptly).
• Strong communication skills—fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus in Scarborough's diverse communities.
• Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to stay calm in high-pressure or multitasking situations.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Basic computer proficiency for monitoring software, logging systems, email, and resident communication tools.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Clear criminal record check and ability to complete site-specific training.
