Responsibilities

- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing various therapeutic modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage urgent mental health situations effectively and ensure patient safety.
- Facilitate intake procedures for new clients, including completing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation and records management in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate behavioral management techniques, social work principles, addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and special education considerations when applicable.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts and optimize patient care outcomes.
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation of patient progress using appropriate CPT coding for billing purposes while adhering to confidentiality standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Strong knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic classification.
- Skilled in crisis management, crisis intervention, behavior management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Experience working with children, pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote patient care delivery.
- Ability to perform patient assessments effectively while utilizing medical terminology and understanding of mental health disorders such as PTSD or chronic pain conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for conducting intake interviews and providing patient education on mental health topics including psychopharmacology when relevant.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to medical records and data collection processes.
