Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Senior Associate, Accounts Payable to support AP operations across multiple member companies. This role is responsible for accurate invoice processing, vendor management, expense review, and AP related month end close activities. In addition, this position will assist with third party revenue recognition support and accrual preparation, ensuring financial accuracy across all entities.

As a Senior Associate, you will:

Accounts Payable Processing:

  • Process high volume invoices across multiple member companies with accuracy and proper coding.
  • Review invoices for correct documentation, approvals, and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs (ACH, checks, wires).
  • Maintain vendor records and support year end 1099 reporting.

Expense & Credit Card Management:

  • Review employee expense reports for accuracy, policy compliance, and proper documentation.
  • Assist with corporate credit card reconciliations and ensure timely receipt submission.

Month-End Close Support:

  • Prepare AP related journal entries, including accruals for unbilled invoices and outstanding obligations.
  • Review AP aging reports and follow up on open items.
  • Reconcile AP subledgers to the general ledger for multiple entities.
  • Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed.

Member Company Support:

  • Serve as the AP point of contact for assigned member companies.
  • Provide guidance on AP processes, expense reporting processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Help standardize AP procedures across entities to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Identify issues impacting financial accuracy and escalate when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to achieve departmental and company-wide goals.

To be successful, you will need:

  • 3–5+ years of Accounts Payable experience; multi entity experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, accruals, and basic revenue related cost matching
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset
  • Proficiency in Excel and general accounting software
  • Proven ability to operate with integrity, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Willingness and ability to meet and exceed established deadlines

We prefer that you have:

  • Experience in professional services, consulting, or project‑based billing is a plus.

This role is open to other states in which we currently operate. The posted salary range applies to candidates based in Washington, DC. Compensation for candidates in other locations may vary based on geographic differentials.
