Backend Developer

We’re looking for an experienced engineer who has worked on large-scale B2C websites with significant traffic. Plexuss.com and our related platforms serve millions of students, and organic discovery is a core driver of our growth. This role is ideal for someone who understands backend systems deeply, thinks methodically, and enjoys solving complex problems that directly impact real users.

You’ll play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and evolving a high-traffic platform—while also helping us thoughtfully integrate AI-driven capabilities as we grow.

What You’ll Do

• Own and improve backend systems supporting high-volume B2C websites
• Partner closely with product and data teams to optimize site performance and scalability
• Lead and support SEO-related technical architecture (indexing, crawlability, performance, structured data, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and solve complex system and performance issues in a methodical way
• Help evaluate and integrate AI-driven tools and workflows into our platform
• Contribute ideas and improvements in a small, highly collaborative engineering team

Who You Are

• Experienced working on large B2C websites with meaningful traffic volume
• Deep backend expertise and strong system-level thinking
• Strong understanding of technical SEO and organic traffic strategy
• A problem solver who is structured, curious, and detail-oriented
• Interested in learning, experimenting, and growing alongside AI technologies
• Comfortable working in a small team where collaboration and accountability matter
• Cordial, team-oriented, and communicative
