Network Operations Engineer - Telecom Infrastructure

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Operations Engineer to join their advanced telecommunications infrastructure team. This critical role, based in Pune, Maharashtra, IN , involves the monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of their complex network systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure, supporting a wide range of telecommunication services. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking technologies, experience with network monitoring tools, and a proven ability to resolve network issues efficiently. This position requires a proactive approach to network management, excellent analytical skills, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure to minimize downtime and maintain service continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor network performance and availability using advanced network management systems. Respond to and resolve network incidents and outages in a timely manner, minimizing impact on services. Perform routine maintenance, configuration, and upgrades of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls). Troubleshoot complex network issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security breaches. Implement network changes and configuration updates following strict change management procedures. Collaborate with other engineering teams to design, deploy, and optimize network infrastructure. Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network issues. Identify trends and potential issues through proactive network analysis and implement preventative measures. Ensure network security policies and best practices are enforced. Assist in capacity planning and network growth strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in network operations or network engineering. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), switching, and firewall technologies. Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix). Experience with telecommunications network technologies and infrastructure. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure. Experience in the Pune, Maharashtra, IN area is an advantage.
