Farm Manager - Sustainable Agriculture

Our client is a forward-thinking agricultural enterprise committed to sustainable farming practices and innovative crop management. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager to oversee operations at our farm located in Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and profitable cultivation of crops while adhering to environmentally sound principles. The Farm Manager will be responsible for all aspects of daily farm operations, including crop planning, planting, irrigation, pest and disease management, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. You will lead a team of farm workers, manage resources effectively, and implement best practices to maximize yield and quality. A strong understanding of agronomy, soil science, and modern agricultural technologies is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute annual crop production plans, including selection of seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection measures. Supervise and manage all farm activities, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting. Oversee the care and maintenance of farm equipment and machinery. Manage and direct farm labor, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Monitor crop health, soil conditions, and weather patterns, implementing appropriate interventions. Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Manage the procurement of farm supplies and inputs, ensuring cost-effectiveness. Oversee harvesting operations and ensure proper storage and handling of produce. Maintain detailed records of farm activities, yields, expenses, and sales. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management or a similar agricultural role. Strong knowledge of crop science, soil management, irrigation techniques, and pest control. Experience with modern farming equipment and technology. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and planning abilities. Familiarity with sustainable and organic farming practices is a plus. Understanding of local agricultural regulations and market dynamics. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks as needed. Good communication and record-keeping skills.
