Pinterest is where inspiration leads to action. As a Sales Manager, Mid-Market, you will lead a team of sellers responsible for helping advertisers grow through Pinterest’s advertising solutions. This role is focused on strong frontline leadership: coaching sellers, driving day-to-day execution, and helping the team deliver against established revenue goals.
This role is well suited for a newer people leader or a high-performing seller with leadership potential who is ready to step into people management. The ideal candidate brings strong sales fundamentals, credibility with clients, and the ability to coach others on core sales skills. They may be early in their people-management journey, but they are excited to develop talent, build team culture, and lead from the front.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and support a team of Mid-Market sellers focused on achieving revenue goals and delivering strong advertiser outcomes.
- Drive day-to-day sales execution across pipeline management, account prioritization, opportunity progression, and customer engagement.
- Coach sellers on core sales fundamentals, including prospecting or account growth, account planning, objection handling, negotiation, and consultative selling.
- Reinforce clear performance expectations and help team members improve through regular feedback, inspection, and in-the-moment coaching.
- Monitor key business metrics and use data to identify risks, support execution, and improve team performance.
- Support accurate forecasting and pipeline hygiene by ensuring sellers maintain strong deal discipline and opportunity visibility.
- Partner with cross-functional teams such as Sales Strategy, Marketing, Measurement, Operations, and Product to help remove blockers and improve advertiser outcomes.
- Help onboard new team members and reinforce best practices, tools, and team operating rhythms.
- Build a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team culture where sellers can develop and perform at a high level.
- Escalate client issues appropriately and partner with internal stakeholders to drive resolution.
- Champion adoption of Pinterest’s ad products, tools, and measurement capabilities across the team.
- Contribute feedback on what is working in the market and help improve team processes and playbooks over time.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in digital advertising, media sales, platform sales, or a related customer-facing commercial role.
- Demonstrated success in a quota-carrying, revenue-driving, or book-of-business environment.
- Prior leadership experience, which may include direct people management, team lead responsibility, mentoring, coaching, or other informal leadership experience.
- Ability to coach sellers on core sales skills and support consistent execution against defined goals.
- Working knowledge of pipeline management, forecasting fundamentals, account planning, and customer relationship management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both clients and internal partners.
- Comfort using data and reporting to identify issues, track performance, and guide action.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Interest in growing as a people leader and building an inclusive, high-accountability team culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as digital media or SAAS sales, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Prior direct people management experience.
- Experience working with Mid-Market advertisers or scaled books of business.
- Experience in performance advertising, brand advertising, or full-funnel platform solutions.
- Familiarity with measurement, attribution, and digital media performance metrics.
- Experience coaching early- or mid-career sellers.
- Experience partnering with agencies or multi-stakeholder client teams.
In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office or in-market 3 times per week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from our Chicago office.
Working Expectations:
- In-market focused sales team focused on velocity, expect to be traveling in market 50% of the time
Relocation Statement:
- This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Visit our PinFlex page to learn more about our working model.
