Middle & High School ELA & Social Studies Teacher for 2026-27 School Year

Job Description

Pinnacle Academy is growing and seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle/High School English Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher (Grades 6–12) to join our team of experienced, motivated, and effective educators. The selected candidate will teach small classes of approximately 15–20 students in a supportive and engaging environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and implement an effective instructional program that supports student growth and achievement
• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs
• Teach middle and high school ELA and Social Studies courses
• Incorporate project-based learning and interdisciplinary connections
• Encourage critical thinking, reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Facilitate interactive classroom discussions and student participation
• Communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding student progress and behavior
• Create a positive, structured, and welcoming classroom environment
• Organize students into small groups to support collaboration and social learning
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in English, History, Humanities, Education, or a related field
• Teaching certification or eligibility preferred
• Strong knowledge of ELA and Social Studies content and instructional strategies
• Proficiency in using educational technology in the classroom
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to create engaging, student-centered lessons
• Ability to teach Honors-level courses; experience with or willingness to support AP-level coursework (e.g., AP English or AP Social Studies) is a strong plus
• Prior teaching experience preferred

Pay: $62,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
