Description
The High Value Core (HVC) Parts Handler is responsible for performing day-to-day activities of the Production Yard or Warehouse in accordance with current federal, state/provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility. The Production/Yard Leader may direct this position to assure that the parts are handled in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.
Essential Job Duties
- Safely maneuver around the yard or warehouse.
- Find/Retrieve parts.
- Package parts for delivery/or prepping
- Any paperwork involved with the parts.
- Pull work orders.
- Use hand tools and power tools to remove parts from cars.
- Operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) or order picker.
- Pull and prep all sheet metal and other orders.
- Tag all parts properly for the destination.
- Communicate with Sales and Dispatch.
- Must display a positive and friendly attitude as well as appropriate behavior during work hours.
- Cleanliness must be maintained in the work area.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Not responsible for supervising employees.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED (preferred).
Preferred Requirements
- A working knowledge of automotive parts.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc.
- Basic messages are communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records. May explain and offer guidance on routine procedures.
- Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
- Decisions generally affect one's own job or the assigned functional area.
- Results are defined, and existing practices are used as guidelines for how to complete work activities; works closely with the supervisor/manager who provides broad guidance and overall direction.
- Prioritize assigned and routine tasks. Handle appropriately.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. On occasion, an employee may be asked to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).

$19.00 hr + $1.00 increase after 90 days.
