POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State is currently seeking a Development Assistant in supporting Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country.

Reporting to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Penn State Behrend and working closely with partners throughout the University, this Development Assistant will:

  • Monitor all activity generated by the development frontline fundraisers including proposals, solicitations, and proper tracking;

  • Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications;

  • Create a variety of unique lists for multiple frontline fundraisers;

  • Review and aid in the preparation of documents created for individuals and for those kept as official documents at the University;

  • Serve as primary liaison between Behrend Development and Alumni Relations and departments within the Office of University Development;

  • Direct connection between development and chancellor’s office;

  • Leader of Development and Alumni Relations committee of Behrend Council of Fellows;

  • Understand and use Penn State development platforms to prepare, format, and distribute reports and informational materials;

  • Perform additional administrative functions in support of the Development Office.

  • The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues;

  • A demonstrated understanding of Microsoft software is preferred;

  • High attention to detail and confidentiality;

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;

  • A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team;

  • A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $40,608.00 - $58,836.00.
