Job Title: IT System Admin
Experience: 2 – 3 Years
Work Location: Coonoor, Nilgiris
Shift: Rotational Shift
Responsibilities
Managing and maintaining servers, systems, and IT infrastructure (on-premises and/or cloud)
- Installing, configuring, and updating operating systems, software, and system tools
- Monitoring system performance, uptime, and resource utilization
- Managing user accounts, permissions, and access control policies
- Performing regular system backups and ensuring data recovery procedures are in place
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Applying security patches, updates, and vulnerability fixes
- Managing Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and file services
- Supporting virtualization platforms and managing virtual machines
- Collaborating with network and security teams for infrastructure improvements
- Escalating critical issues and coordinating with vendors when required
- Maintaining documentation of system configurations, processes, and incidents
Technical Skills:
- Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.)
- Server Management: Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, File Print Services
- Virtualization: Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms
- Cloud Platforms: Basic understanding of Azure / AWS / Google Cloud (optional for L1, preferred for L2)
- Networking: Knowledge of LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, routing, and firewall basics
- Backup Recovery: Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning
- Security: Understanding of system hardening, antivirus, patching, and access controls
- Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with system monitoring and alerting tools
- Scripting: Basic knowledge of PowerShell, Bash, or automation tools
