Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to prepare and review tax returns, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and provide strategic tax planning advice. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, 1041)
- Research tax regulations to ensure compliance and identify savings opportunities
- Assist clients with IRS/state tax notices, audits, and resolutions
- Collaborate with senior staff on tax planning strategies (e.g., deductions, credits, entity structuring)
- Maintain client records in CCH Axcess, QuickBooks, or similar software
- Support quarterly estimated tax calculations and year-end projections
- Stay updated on tax law changes and advise clients accordingly
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or EA preferred)
- Experience: 2+ years in tax preparation (public accounting firm experience a plus)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software (CCH, UltraTax, or Lacerte) and Excel
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management
- Bonus: Knowledge of multi-state filings, international tax (FBAR/5471), or real estate taxation
