Entry Level Paralegal job at Palmer Legal Staffing. Washington DC.

We are seeking an Entry-Level Paralegal to join an amazing D.C. law firm! This individual would be responsible for assisting attorneys with managing complex mass tort litigation, including administering class action and individual settlements, claims processing, including, tracking bankruptcies, probates, and liens asserted against settlements, compiling medical records, and tracking claimant data. This is a hybrid role. It is a great opportunity for any recent grads seeking to gain legal experience! Note: Candidates MUST have a completed Bachelor's Degree, Spring 2025 graduates will not be considered.

Status: Direct Hire

Salary: Up to $55K DOE

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support for a variety of client matters, including processing of settled claims, preparation for client meetings and negotiations, research, and general attorney matter support
• Review and analyze medical records, legal and financial documents
• Maintain various Excel tracking charts; ability to manipulate and sort data, prepare reports and statistics
• Maintain accurate records electronically
• Minimal administrative support tasks including mail, answering phones, replenishing supplies, and preparing conference rooms for meetings
• Ability to incur overtime in order to perform the essential duties of the position

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.4 or higher
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with document management programs, web-based conference call/web-sharing applications, Adobe Products, Pacer and Westlaw
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and prioritize tasks
