UAV Systems Engineer

Location: IIT Ropar, Punjab (On-site)

PaceDefence Systems is hiring a UAV Systems Engineer to join our growing defence technology team at IIT Ropar

.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer passionate about building and deploying next-generation UAV systems for defence and strategic applications.

Key Responsibilities

• UAV system integration across avionics, propulsion, flight controls, communication systems, and payloads
• Flight controller configuration, tuning, and mission validation (PX4 / Ardupilot)
• Payload integration including EO/IR, telemetry, RF systems, and mission equipment
• Ground testing, flight trials, debugging, and performance optimization
• Support rapid prototyping, field deployments, and product development

Desired Skills

• Experience with UAV systems (Fixed Wing / VTOL / Hybrid)
• Knowledge of PX4, Ardupilot, Mission Planner, MAVLink, QGroundControl
• Strong troubleshooting and systems engineering mindset
• Exposure to avionics, embedded systems, RF, or aerospace systems preferred
• Defence / UAV startup experience is a plus

Qualifications

Bachelor’s / Master’s in Aerospace, Electronics, Mechanical, Robotics, Avionics, Mechatronics, or related fields.
